As the school's communication and reputation management leader, the Director will be responsible for managing the school's communication and public relations functions. The Director leads all communication strategies for external constituencies, internal communication strategies that support a cohesive and well-informed school community, and manages crisis communications. Marketing and communication initiatives under the direction of the Director include brand awareness and advertising, media relations, school publications, interactive and digital marketing, social media, collateral and implementation of market research and market segmentation strategies.
The Director reports directly to the Head of School and as a member of the Administrative team serves as the lead communications counselor and marketing officer for the school. In conjunction with the senior leadership, the Director develops core marketing messages that enhance the school's reputation.
The Director of Marketing and Communication will join Kent Denver school at an exciting time. The school is in the process of developing a new five-year strategic plan, and in 2022 will celebrate its Centennial Anniversary. The new Director will play a key role in assisting the school in realizing its ambitious mission of transforming lives of students and community through extraordinary educational experiences.
Develop a comprehensive and proactive school-wide marketing, communication and branding strategy that supports the strategic goals, plans and aspirations of the school.
Oversee the editorial direction, design, and production of all publications, school web properties, social media initiatives, advertising, and media with a goal of creating dynamic, engaging materials that convey and reflect the key brand attributes of the school.
Lead crisis management planning and response messaging to deal with critical events as they arise. Provide strategic counsel on reputation and issues management to senior leadership.
Lead media relations outreach and oversee the school's media relations strategy.
Lead a diverse team of employees who handle web production, graphic design, marketing and editorial writing, photography and videography. Provide mentorship to staff, both in terms of departmental strategy and professional development.
Cultivate strong working relationships with staff, faculty, coaches, parents and students across the school.
Superb written and oral communication skills and exceptional attention to detail. Demonstrated versatility in writing for all media platforms.
Successful track record of developing and implementing multi-faceted school marketing and communication strategies.
Experience in planning, writing, editing and production of press releases, marketing literature, and other print publications.
Strong project management skills, including the ability to coordinate deliverables among multiple departments and manage communication personnel under simultaneous deadlines, on time and within budget
